Ai.Beyot × Starlight Festival · the redo · 8 Oct
Steady faces, shots that breathe, cleaner words
Your notes, on all six. Faces show only where the camera holds steady. Everything else is B-roll held 2–3 s, now including your April shoot. Mohammed's parts are rebuilt from his cleanest sentences. The checkbook joke is out, and no one else is heard behind an answer.

What's in every reel
- Faces. Every on-camera second is measured, the same way as the B-roll: shake, and the face steady in frame. Shaky stretches went under B-roll. The faces are now tighter medium shots. The build refuses anything that fails.
- B-roll. 2–3.5 s per shot instead of 1 s. New from your April shoot: the stilts capsule at dusk, the bedroom, the skylight reveal, their HQ. Sea, desert and garden from their own reel.
- Voices. A voice check found 3 spots where someone else talked under an answer. All three are gone: the 'Okay' before Rani's 'I swear', the 'Thank you' over Fawaz's «برافو عليك», and the 'Yeah, that's a good one' over Rani's 'Beach'.
- Ending. Theirs, slower: three shots of two beats each, Ai.Beyot's logo, the white card.
1 · Matthew Hoag
What changed
- Same words. His camera is steady throughout, so he stays on for the hook, the 150 shows, the hotel rooms and the last line.
- B-roll. Each shot 2.5–3.5 s. 'Anything that can resemble home' now shows their bedroom from the April shoot.
2 · Rani Kalan
What changed
- Hook. Starts on 'My first reaction…', the version you called fire. His camera swung under 'To be very honest'.
- Voice. The 'Okay' someone said before 'I swear' is gone.
- B-roll. 'A high-end apartment' → their bedroom. 'A finishing like this' → the skylight reveal.
3 · Mohamed Fawaz
What changed
- Voice. The 'Thank you' said over his «برافو عليك» is gone.
- B-roll. «أبني أوضة… ودهان» → the spray painting. «جبت الأوضة» → the crane. «تحط العفش وأنا أرتاح» → the bedroom.
4 · Abu Bakr
What changed
- Hook. Starts on «أول مرة شفت لاونج زي كده». The camera panned under «بصراحة».
- New line. «هو زي كأنك في الفضاء» over the capsule lit at dusk.
5 · Mohammed Hazem
What changed
- Hook. «كل حاجة premium قوي… كأنك قاعد في بيت… كأنه serviced apartment». The idea you asked for: it feels like home.
- Story. First official event in Egypt, Exit → people picture a plain box, but here the curves, the glass, the panoramic view → the sea, the desert, a guest house → inside, the artist hears nothing → «أول ما يخلص الـ set بتاعته… مش عاوز يطلع تاني».
- Out. The 'monuments' line (its English), the English 20–25 years line, the checkbook, his ums and restarts.
6 · Everyone
What changed
- Questions. Your first reaction? · Ever seen a lounge like this? · Three words? · Where would you put one?
- Ending. Mohammed: «كان نفسي أحط الكابسولز بتاعتنا قدام الأهرامات… I hope one day… في كل حتة في العالم». The checkbook is gone.
- Out. 'Would you sleep here?' (Matthew's camera shakes on his 'Yes'), Rani's three words (shaky, and the 'sexy' joke), Rani's 'Beach' (someone talking over it).
Your calls
- Older versions. Last night's six (v4, and v2 for Fawaz and Abu Bakr) stay on your Desktop. Nothing was overwritten.
- Waiting on you. Internet logos and festival footage (Starlight, EXIT, Interstellar Plus, Ai.Beyot's official logo). Nothing is downloaded until you say yes.
- Names. Is the bald production man Abu Bakr Ibrahim? The card says so until you correct it.
- Nothing posted. Nothing is posted or in the Content System, and no credits were spent.
